How much will be financed?

Use the actual amount financed if you know it, or a scenario amount you want to understand.

Add the amount financed, APR, and term to see the payment and payoff progression. AutoUnite will not invent any of those inputs.

UNDERSTAND THE ESTIMATE

How the Amortization Schedule Calculator works

See how each estimated auto-loan payment is divided between principal and interest and how the remaining balance declines over time. The schedule uses the same payment math as the estimate above.

What you need to get started

This calculator uses the following inputs to build an estimate. Check your own agreement or quote when a rate, fee, or contract value is required.

  • Amount Financed
  • APR %
  • Loan Term (months)

How the estimate is built

  1. Enter the amount financed rather than a vehicle price that may still exclude taxes, fees, or down payment.
  2. Enter the APR and loan term for the financing scenario.
  3. AutoUnite calculates the monthly payment and the principal-interest split for each period.
  4. Review the first 12 schedule rows in the guided result and the total-interest and final-balance outputs without relying on a chart alone.

Example

Early payments on an interest-bearing loan generally contain more interest than later payments because interest is calculated on the remaining balance. As the balance falls, more of a fixed payment can go toward principal.

Common car loan amortization questions

What is a car loan amortization schedule?

It is a period-by-period view of payment, principal, interest, and remaining balance across the loan term.

Why does the interest portion change each month?

For a standard amortizing loan, interest is based on the remaining balance, so the interest amount generally falls as principal is paid down.

What happens at 0% APR?

At 0% APR, the payment goes to principal because this scenario has no interest charge.

Is this the same as my lender statement?

Not necessarily. Lender timing, fees, payment dates, and servicing rules can make an actual statement differ from this estimate.

How much of the schedule does AutoUnite show at once?

The guided result shows a readable preview while preserving the complete term length in the calculation result, so the first screen is not overloaded.
