Calculator Help & Methodologies

Understanding AutoUnite deterministic calculations, source records, scenario comparisons, and disclosures.

1. Deterministic Calculation Authority

All 24 AutoUnite calculators run through a verified mathematical engine (calculator-core). Every monthly payment, interest amount, lease fee, and depreciation curve uses precise standard amortization and financial math. AutoUnite never guesses or invents numbers.

2. Data Transparency: Missing Is Not Zero

When data providers (such as Auto.dev) do not have verified tax, fee, APR, or residual values for a specific vehicle or location:

  • AutoUnite labels the field as Missing or Omitted.
  • Missing values are never silently coerced to $0 (which would produce dangerously inaccurate payment estimates).
  • You can manually enter your local tax rate, dealer fee, or lender APR to see the accurate estimate.

3. Saving and Comparing Scenarios

You can save calculation scenarios to your account (or guest session). Select 2 to 4 saved scenarios to launch the Side-by-Side Comparison modal, which highlights monthly payment deltas, total interest differences, and overall lifetime cash outlays.

4. AI Assistant Inquiries

The AutoUnite AI bar is strictly bound to deterministic formulas. When you ask questions like "What if I put $3,000 more down?", the AI passes structured adjustments to the calculator core and explains the deterministic result. It never invents independent rates or terms.

5. Financial Disclosures & Lender Terms

All calculator figures are estimates for informational and comparative shopping purposes only. Actual interest rates, taxes, titling fees, and credit decisions are determined by licensed financial institutions and automotive dealerships. See our Full Calculator Legal Disclaimer.
